This morning, officials at the Mojave National Preserve will remove the canvas tarp covering the Veterans Memorial Cross. This action comes the day after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the cross could remain uncovered during the appeal of a ruling that the cross is not a veterans memorial but a religious sysmbol and must be removed from federal property.
